Personal Experience College Life - 724 Words

College was very much a paradox for me. College was the most challenging experiences in my life, and yet one of the best experiences I have ever had. During my undergraduate years, I met new people, took exciting courses, and learned to live without the daily guidance of my parents. And most of all, I was able to learn more about myself. After my first year, the pressure of living on campus, friends, and classes began to take a toll on me. I began to fall apart. I worked two jobs to support myself, knowing that I could not ask my parents frequently for money due to their own financial burdens at home. I had to constantly deal with the upheaval from my relationships with roommates, friends, and family. I began dealing with anxiety, and my confidence level dropped considerably. My schoolwork began to suffer, and I began to withdraw from my friends and family. There were times when I cried almost every day and felt as though I could not carry on. The hardest part of all of this was putt ing on a faà §ade for the people around me as though everything was perfectly okay. I still wanted people to see my as the happy, smiling person that was always in a good mood. Seeing that my grades had plummeted and realizing that I was going through a depressed time in my life, made me take a stand to make changes in my life. I knew I could not sit around dwelling in my despair while life passed me by.
